Governance
Kaldras is led in three parts – the people are governed by King Alexios Variann, the churches are governed by Hierarch Calista Ephialtes, and the city guardsmen are governed by General Lucian Marcellas.
Kaldras is Thauriga’s largest and most influential city, founded by Kaldran, one of the Three Heroes who struck down Nelthares and restored the sun. A centre of faith, culture, and trade, it thrives as a beacon of pilgrimage and ambition, where towering temples stand alongside bustling marketplaces and grand theatres.
Every ten years, the city erupts into the Kaldran Solstice Festival, drawing thousands from across Thauriga. For a week, revellers gather in its streets, honouring the gods through feasting, song, and sacred rites. It is a moment for intense devotion and celebration, reinforcing the city’s role as both the spiritual heartland and cultural powerhouse of Thauriga.
