Aestra is a theocracy devoted to Areia, governed by Hierarch Thyressa and her advisory council of senior clergy. Religious doctrine shapes both law and daily governance, with decisions made in accordance with Areia’s divine will.
Aestra is a land veiled in mystery, hidden beyond the mortal gaze, surrounded by an ever-shifting mist that conceals its shores. It cannot be found by wandering sailors, nor can its location be uncovered through maps, spells, or divine intervention. It is hidden beyond mortal perception, wrapped in the sacred mist. The only certainty is that when the Spearsong wish to appear, they do – emerging from the fog anywhere across Thauriga, their sleek warships cutting through the waves like specters of war.
Favored by Areia, the Goddess of Love and War, the Spearsong are an all-women people whose discipline is forged through battle and devotion. They are warriors without equal, their combat an art, their movements precise, deliberate, and unwavering. To the world, they are an enigma, appearing only when necessity calls – striking down foes, delivering cryptic warnings, then vanishing back into the mist. It is rare for a Spearsong to leave Aestra permanently, and those who do walk as living myths, their presence sparking rumors and reverence alike.
